I just recently i received a letter from my ISP (Charter) saying i infringed on copyright laws on something i downloaded 3 weeks ago or something. I'm guessing its not safe to download anymore right? What can they do to me if i do download another application, movie, or song?

Many universities and internet service providers are reporting people who use p2p programs. The biggest reason for the Internet Service Providers taking action is the amount of bandwidth being used by p2p programs is tremendous, your costing them tons of money because your using excessive amounts of bandwidth, so by eliminating your illegal activity, they open up more bandwidth for other customers.....I will try to find the article on this, I just read it yesterday.....I think the isp companies reported p2p programs eating up over 30% of their resources....

If you keep downloading, keep in mind they are watching everything you do online now, they will drop you from their service and report your illegal actions......Expect jail or huge fines depending on what your downloading....

Wow, you LIKE flirting with danger? LOL... seriously, their first line of defense is to cut you off permanently. Without access, you're pretty much harmless to them. They have to do that to protect THEIR interests, because by continuing to give you service, they're enabling you to break the law.

Do what I do - just D/L one or two songs at a time, then get the heck OFF the computer! My daughter leaves her Limewire running for days on end - I told her that any day now, the cops are gonna be banging on her door. :/

dude, if ur downloading music, etc, you are going to get caught. They know what you are doing. If you leave it running, they will probably get you... My cousin leaves it running with SBC internet but they changed to at&t. he recieved an email about his bandwith usage. i told him to turn off the limewire and he had no more problems with it. With limewire off, your itnernet is faster. if your not downlaoding, its better... i hope it helps...
