Near Death Experience? what do you think? has it happened to you?

2007-03-17 17:09:10 · 7 answers · asked by Love Exists? 6 in Social Science Psychology

NDE is pointed out by these factors

*you see your physical body lying there and you seem to be floating above it
* black tunnel with white lines light at the end of it
* at the end of the tunnel you see your family and friends
(thats how far most people have gone)

MJ D : babies cry when they come in world to let their Lungs get air to start the breathing process. I don't think it has to do anything with saddness.

No, I haven't been there. It is genuine and well documented. As MJD shows, it is a window into the world we go to after death. (By "we" i mean our consciousness -- cf my previous answer to the Canadian question about consciousness, guilt and loneliness.) The loving and peaceful nature of the Otherworld and the welcoming presence therein of those we have loved as experienced by most people in NDEs is consistent with reports of that realm by those I know and know of who have "travelled" there in genuine visions, with the teachings of many ancient societies such as the Celts, and with the description by Swami Sri Yukteswar in Autobiography of a Yogi.

Yes, I have experienced it more than 36 years ago while having a cerebral hemmorhage...and having done so has made me ever so much more appreciative of just everything life offers.

It was a spiritual experience that is mostly subjective, beautiful colors, music, familiar people and just the most fantastic feeling of love and peace.

Because of this experience, I've no fear of dying; it's something I look forward to. I wish everyone could know that death is not a horrible experience, quite the opposite.

Now I fully understand why I've been told that we should cry when being born (into this challenging world) and experience joy when we die.

Are you talking about the light at the end of the tunel? The floating above your body? I've gotta tell ya, my brain does strange things when I'm sleeping, I can't imagine what it would do near death!!!

I did when I was a child and got an operation. I tend to think of it as a dream, but to tell the truth, I just don't know what the heck that was beyond the shadow of a doubt.
