I find it baffling that so many questions and answers I see on Yahoo say "Buffalo is a dirty industrialist city." While it is true that Buffalo was once a major industrial hub and the 8th largest city in the U.S., I feel like the people who say such unbelievably negative things about Buffalo have never even been here. I've lived here for two years and I love my city - especially it's 19th century architecture (some buildings are by Frank Lloyd Wright) and many museums. We have a great arts and music scene, and truly the weather isn't that bad.

I just don't understand why people from out of town are eager to perpetuate stereotypes that aren't true. Why is this? Why do those who have never stepped foot here feel obligated to put their two cents in?

Well, I will admit that the weather is pretty crummy in the winter, but it's that way in a lot of places. My dad is from there, so we visit a lot. Like you said, there's a great music and arts scene, and it's just an all around fun city.
I'm from Pittsburgh, so I feel the same way a lot of the time. It's a nice city with lots to do, but everyone thinks it's some disgusting steel city with a ton of pollution. It's really not like that at all any more, but people haven't been here and have all these stupid stereotypes about it. Actually, we have lame weather too, haha. It's always cloudy and rainy.

I spend a lot of time in the United States - General category and haven't yet read anything negative about Buffalo.

I have been there twice (going to and from the Falls) and have enjoyed our stays there both times.
Oh, and I love an area where you get four seasons.
sadly once a city gets a bad (industrial) reputation it is hard for it to re-emerge.
Look at Detroit, it has similar problems.
Pittsburgh once did too. Now its a desirable location of choice.

Stay proud and keep spreading the good word about Buffalo!

I lived in Buffalo, NY many years ago. Yeah, there are many beautiful buildings, such as the Ellicott Square Building, that represent some real history.

Too bad some people don't like industry -- they don't "get it". We should bring back the steel mills, the shipyards, and the auto industry. It's "good stuff".

The weather is great -- there are actual seasons there!

I don't know, my neighbors are from Buffalo and I think it is a good city. They're just stating their opinion but they wouldn't know what it really was like until they went there.

whilst a individual will ask a query, then persist with with many clarification why they gained't believe solutions that don't bolster their suggestions, they should be "positioned down" as you call it. whilst all and sundry bothers to ask a query, on Yahoo or the different format, it is going to be with the motive on discovering with regard to the subject remember, or getting an answer which will help them remedy a particular problem. those daily questions approximately "am I pregnant" or "does he like me" are in basic terms occasion of persons who could be positioned down, as how are any people to nicely known what is going on with people we don't comprehend, that are many miles away.
