Id tell him that this is not forever, and theres a whole future aside from the stress ur living in right now...this is only a period of time that ur somewhere that is testing your strength, but God put you to the test and you are in the army because you know you and everybody who knows you knows you have the ability to do this...
if i was in that predicament, i think that would make me feel a little better...

I would say: God is with you, & so am I. I support you all the way, and pray for you & all the other soldiers every day. Know that what you are doing is not in vain. You are protecting our country, and for that I am eternally grateful!

We love you, we pray for your safety, we are sorry you have to be there, but they didn't ask us before they started this stupid war.
60% of America feels this way. We support our troops, but we do not support this pointless, expensive (in innocent lives and $) war.
