i'm trying to run a extention cord( internet cord ") from my wireles router to my comp. can some one tell what connection i should set up for that please? thanks

Use the 1, 2, 3, or 4 ports on the back of your router NOT the INTERNET port. Use standered Eternet Cable and you should be good.

well there really shouldnt be any setup... you just plug the ethernet cord (as you said "extention") into the back of your router then to network card in your computer (it should have one... right?). when you hardwire a computer you rarely need to configure anything especially if you are running XP.

I think you are asking what type of cable to use. If thats it then you want to use cat5 ethernet cable, it should not matter if it is straight thru or crossover as most routers and ethernet cards nowadays have auto switching cababilities.
