i went to the doc today because i was having a lot of itching down there. the doc told me it was a yeast infection. today is the 16 of my cycle and i have been trying to get prego for three months now. the doc took a pregnancy test today at the visit. i told her i did not want to take it because if it comes out negative i will be devastated. she told me she had to take it because the medicine she would prescribe. so my question is was it to soon to take a pregnancy test?? can i still expect to be pregnant cause me and my hubby had sex on the 7,9,11, 12, and 14 day of my cycle.

Most pregnancy tests now are so sensitive that they can be accurate anything up to 5 - 7 days after conception... but it may still be too early to tell.

If you do have yeast infections the chance of pregnancy is lessened as the infection can play havoc on your body and also on the sperm cells... but it is still likely.

Don't stress too much about it at this point in time. Even if you are pregnant, the medication may not cause any problems at all.

Just relax... take care of your health first because you need a healthy Mom to have a healthy baby...

And if you're not pregnant this month, just think of all the fun you can have trying next month ;-)

Good Luck!!

not exactly likely to happen while you have an infection down there. a pregnancy test can be taken 2 - 3 days after having sex with accurate readings. damn gurl i'm a guy. do your research.
if your that emotionally unstable that you will be 'devistated' if your not pregnant then maybe its not a wise idea having a child.

Depending on your body and how strong the hcg hormone is your body will determine if the test is correct or not. Lots of people test too early only to find a week or so later that they actually are pregnant. Anything is possible, and keep positive thoughts ... Im sprinking lots of "Baby Dust" on you!

a pregnancy test is not acurate until at least the first day of your missed period. if you haven't missed a period then you jsut have to wait til you do. best of luck to you
