i dont watch mutch college hoops but i do have virgina tech making it to elite 8 where they lose to UCLA. ive seen them play a few times and think they are very talented. everyone seems to disagree with me though about VT making it that far. some people even said they wouldnt even make it past the first round (which we all know they did). so what do you think about their chances making a good run in the tournament?

Coming from a diehard VT fan, I would have to caution you they're very talented but they have a problem after their big three of Dowdell, Gordon, and Washington no one is comprible enough to score. I think the D is good enough for the elite eight only if the O can put points on the board

Yes this year they are, they beat UNC twice this year, as well as Duke...but everybody beats Duke, so that really didn't help my point.
Seth Greenburg who is the coach of VT is very under rated as a coach, he took Long Beach State to the Tourny back in the day when they had Lucious Harris & Bryon Russell, he is a very good recruiter and pretty soon VT will be a basketball school rather than football.

I watched them play today against Illinois and they didn't look very good to me. Granted, they did win, but I watched the middle part when they were down at least 5... and more than once, their player ran down the court in front of everyone else and went to dunk the ball and missed... they're going to be more disciplined if they're going all the way to the elite 8... they can't make these big comebacks at the end of every game.

player match up seems to play a key role in how VT plays.

During the season they matched up well with UNC and won. They matched up poorly with some other teams and lost.

Now how to translate that into a won/loss decision in a bracket, that's beyond me!

I think Virginia Tech is good enough to beat Kansas or Kentucky.

No, this is a team that swept UNC, then was swept by NCSU.
You never know which Va Tech team will show up.
