where did the people of benin,africa exactly come from?

In this book(African history) it said that Benin's people descended from many parts of western Africa
i want to know the exact country where they came from!!

Benin started as the African kingdom of Dahomey. It was formed by a mixture of local ethnic groups on the Abomey plain.
