I am going to rent a scary movie to watch with my family soon,but dont know what to get.We really liked these movies.
Wolf Creek, The shining, The ring 1 and 2, the grudge 1 and 2, the hills have eyes, 13 ghosts, nightmare on elmstreet, cry wolf.

The Shining is a great choice. Also try Rosemary's Baby, The Blob, 28 Days Later, Devil's Backbone, The Thing.
People seem to confuse "scary movies." A "startling" movie is not scary. A scary movie gets in your head and stays with you even after you left the theatre.

The Hills Have Eyes is great and one of my favorites is The Shining. you should also look into Rear Window.

Grudge is so scary and Nightmare on elm street is so original thats good too.

if your family did like those movies, why not rent one of them again? It will be a sure hit with your family since you know they already like it.
