why is it green? why is it so special? why do want to always find a 4 leaf clover on St. Pattys Day?

its good luck because its so rare to find one in nature. And especially on march 17 because its already considered lucky by the irish.

The four leaf clover is a symbol of good luck. According to legend, Eve carried a four leaf clover from the Garden of Eden.
According to Irish folklore, finding a stem of clover with 4 leaves will bring you good luck, but finding a clover stem with more than 4 leaves will not bring you even more luck.
The mystique of the four leaf clover continues today, since finding a real four leaf clover is still a rare occurrence and omen of good luck.
The 4 leaves symbolize:
One leaf is for HOPE... The second for FAITH...
The third for LOVE... And the fourth for LUCK!

Actually it's supposed to be a three-leafed clover, or shamrock really. It was used by St. Patrick to represent/explain the holy trinity (Father, Son, Holy Ghost).
The four leaf clover became a symbol of luck for its rarity, so that's why people think of it when they think of St. Patrick's day... but really for the holiday the original symbol is a three-leaf one!

jenhi and frut.e are close, it started out with the three leaf clover, which was to show that 3 people can come together to be one. the stuff about the 4 leaf clover is ??????????? I dont know

usually clovers only have 3 leaves but there are a few with 4 leaves so if u find one with 4 leaves that means u r in luck and u should make a wish

Three leaf clovers are common, four are more rare, hence if you find one it's supposed to be good luck.
