First, remember everyone else is likely to feel the same way. It is one of those experience most humans have in common. Before you begin, take a deep breath as you look for a friendly face or two and speak to them. Know what you want to say, use index cards or at least briefly note your main points. I have found it helpful to be prepared with an introduction that briefly states the main ideas, an example or two, and backup my statements with facts.

Good luck!

Prepare yourself so completely that you know that no one else in the room has more knowledge about the subject than you do. For those few moments that you are in control, you are the alpha dog.

That confidence will beget calmness.
