There are some of those more respectable gay me that don't act gay. It's like you wouldn't even know they are gay. They are manly and beautiful, unlike the flamers types. That's my opinion. I ain't gay, but this is to the homosexuals is there prejudice between the flamers and butches.

Prejudice is a human condition. We all catagorize. We all make assumptions. Remember the old line about making first impressions? You can only make one once and that one is a pre-judging.

The problem is when we stick with first impressions, how we judged something, and don't change if the facts change. The problem also arises when, in forums like this, the 'pot is constantly calling the kettle black'--and neither can agree on who has the right to criticize the other.

I'd say so. Just from your own words "more respectable gay men that don't act gay" who are "beautiful, unlike the flamers types", it seems like there's a prejudice towards different types of gay men.

Yes, I've noticed some gay men who are completely offended by effeminate gay men, who feel they are stereotypical and ruining life for the rest of gay men. Similarly, a lot of gay men find butch ones to be "straight-acting" and being that way to reduce visibility and escape prejudice. I find both attitudes awful in the extreme. We come in all different ways, shapes, and forms, and none is better than the other. It's fine to not enjoy or be aroused by effeminate gay men or masculine ones, but let 'em be.

Most gay people, though, are very tolerant and open-minded and accepting.

Hope that helps.
