i own a repair shop,and try checking the cable or the fluid for the clutch ,ever which one it has ,if its the type that uses the fluid type cylinder this could be low on brake fluid or it may have gone out,and you may also need to have the clutch adjusted on it,that was a problem with some of those cars that was 5 speed,if its the cable type they can be adjusted really easy from the engine compartment,you need a good repair manual on this car,it would really help you a lot,good luck i hope this helps.

sadly my news may not be good. That's usually a classic sign that the clutch is getting thin. Best case scenario is the clutch cable needs adjusted or the slave cylinder needs bled or adjusted if the rod into the form arm is adjustable. Or your syncro's are acting up or your 1st gear fork is slightly bent. I highly doubt that.

Push in the clutch first

check the linkage, It can be an easy fix.

it could be the snyronizer.
