this is called deja vu effect, and it was never scientifically explained. it happened to me when I was in London (for the first time) when I was about 16. when I arrived to Trafalgar square, it was amazing, I knew my way around the centre of London, I even had the feeling that some of the shop-windows should be different... I have no idea how this happened, I am still puzzled by it... I didn't get scared, for some reason, it all seemed perfectly normal.... very strange. I wouldn't want that feeling again.

Historical houses in some point of dereliction, with sweeping staircases and nicely set windows, especially in overseas destinations that my past relations have resided , but to be frank I don't dwell on the feeling, it is not paranormal but a nice comfortable feeling of steadiness and stability, something that the architecture and the location and history set for me (as a tourist) in knowing that A B and C from my long and winding clan did long long ago on occasions frequent the said places.

Yes it has happened to me a few times. I usually dream about the place, people and even what is said. When I am in the area after I feel slightly odd and can usually tell right off when I am in the area I dreamed about and can tell what people will say too.

Yes, that has happened to me often--and I have lived in several states. I seem to recognize towns, motels, restaurants, etc. that I have never seen before. I have been on unfamiliar highways--but they seem familiar (like I'll know where the road is going to twist and turn).
There are many opinions on why things like this happen--but I don't know that any of them are correct.

Do you know why...because some people believe that when we sleep our souls leave our bodies some nights..This is called astral travel. When your dreaming at night you dream what is going to happen.. If you have ever had feeling of dejavu.. I have many times in places, when I've been talking to my friends, when i was driving over the Rockies in America even when i met my ex girlfriend believe it or not..

What Mr. Sunil wrote is correct for most of the cases.
There is one more possibility. Some persons can recollects
events of their past birth with many details. The memory
of such recollection will be hazy for some persons.
They can say that the place is somewhat familiar and
that very feeling is so strong that they do not look at changed
details.
