The overloaded spinner from the wet heavy carpet caused the imbalanced to the motor. It may have caused a burnt out!
Unplug the machine and open the back and see whether parts are shorted out or the belt may be torn. Replace the parts and the machine should run like a charm. Do not wash heavy carpeting and walk away from the spinning cycle again!
Readjust the weigh of the wet laundry, when the machine tries to do a " limbo rock" in the laundry room.
Good Luck.

Put the machine on low wash and put a bottle of apple-cider vinegar in the water and run it through rinse and spin.
U may have to clean the hose in the back...carpet fuzzies.
The vinegar should clean the holes good.
Try to put it on another cycle like delicate.
