At times in school,I find it very difficult when my friends stop me from making friends with people they don't like. The people I want to make friends with are really very very nice.My friends ususally stop me from doing that.If I make friends with them,my friends will not be friends with me anymore.

Part of what you are describing is just growing up. Young people who already have a set of friends fear that they will lose those friends if an outsider interferes. You have to decide though who determines who your friends in life will be. Should you stop expanding your friendship web? I don't think so.

And if a friend gives you an ultimatum: "Stop being friends with that person or we are finished!" and there is not good reason why you should not be friends with this new person -- then your existing friend is immature and you should question the friendship you have with him or her.

I can remember my best friend from school branching out in search of new friends. I never gave him an ultimatum though and did not dictate to him who should or should not be his friends. (I did question in my own mind what the great connection was between him and some of these new friends though, but kept it to myself.) Our friendship continued to exist whereas those with these other characters eventually faded.

Be wary in life of friends who seem to be a little too controlling. It's nice to have people around who "warn you," but when friends start to make demands on you that are unnecessary, you should begin to question the friendship.

Your friends don't hae the right to tell you who you can and can't be friends with. That's a little controlling and unhealthy in a friendship.
Be friends with whoever you want. If your friends have a problem then drop them. They're not real friends anyway.

If you really want to be friends with both then your "old" friends will just have to understand. If they dont then they arnt worth your time. People are allowed to be friends with whom ever they want you dont need approval from anyone.

Sounds like you need to dump your controlling friends & find nicer friends.

your friends are being very immature/jealous.you need to talk to them about that, they can't tell you what to do.it's your life.you need to just goahead and be friends w/the other people that they don't like.if they don't like it then ditch them,REAL FRIENDS DON'T CONTROL YOU.
