And should I bring it up in court that my husband stole the engagement ring (I was only wearing the wedding band at the time).

Hi,
I removed my wedding ring when I decided that I didn't want to be married to my alcoholic/cheating husband anymore.
I have been divorced for 9 years now and I raised all 3 of my children without any help or support from my ex-.
Removing my wedding ring and deciding to make a life with just my kids' was the best thing that I ever did!!
So to your question, I removed my ring when I decided that I didn't want to be my ex's wife anymore!!

I removed my wedding ring when I knew our relationship was totally over. Even though I had not yet filed for divorce & it certainly wasn't final. The court being the court, wouldn't allow me to file for divorce because at the time I was pregnant. The court, saying that we'd work everything out by the time the baby came. But there was absolutely nothing to work out!!! The man did so many things, that divorce was the only answer.

Then, he drug me in & out of court for more than 3 very long years. Why?? Cause he CLAIMED to want custody of our 2 children. Yeah, the man who wouldn't so much as take care of one of his children during the day while I worked; CLAIMED he wanted custody of both children!!!!

Finally, I called his BLUFF & called him & told him that if he wanted custody....... come pick the children up!! He could have it!!!! Funny, how that ended the fight over custody so quickly!! As, he really didn't want custody & backed completely off.

The day that I decided to file for divorce, I made an appointment with a lawyer and took the ring off. The marriage was dead at that point and the divorce was just the funeral.

if you wanted out of the marriage, you should have handed him back the rings. I wore my wedding ring for about 3 months after the divorce was final. and sometimes after it, or at least a ring on that finger, it was the only jewelry that I ever wore other than a necklace and I felt naked without it/

I have been divorced 10 years. The ring has been off my finger ever since. But there is still a ring around around my heart. There has been many since. But to love someone enough to marry. There will always be a special place that will always be a part of you.

when you know the marriage is over for sure take the ring off and most all divorces the girl keeps the engagement ring your intitled to get that back to you. If for some reason he don't have it then the value what its worth.

Once I decided I wasn't staying married to him, I took it off for good. If your heart is dead set against being married, wearing the ring, having the certificate all that is just formality you can do or not do but if the ring actually symbolizes the marriage (as it did for me) take it off the minute you realize you are no longer truly commited to this person.

Before the divorce was done. When I have try all the things I could from counseling to trying to forgive and forget but it just kept coming back! Plus, when there is not more love for the other person.
