Almost, Hip hop use to be about a powerful statement and originality. Now, everybody is doing the same thing, rapping about the same stuff, and it is starting to get boring and dull. There aren't to many hip hop artist that love their craft, it is all about money, fast cars, and women. What happen to the great artist that told a story through their music. However, true and the essence of hip hop will never die.

No. I think that hip-hop is entering a new era in which the music is better. However the rap that Nas sings is mostly without swears and vulgar, so in that sense it had died in the way that it used to be.

Lyrical geniuses dead-maybe? Hip-Hop as in KRS ONE, enlightening us with his edutainment, or LL, Rockin' the Bells til your head swells. Rakim's masterplan.....Eric B. for President. Chuck D. and the political lyrical assassinations. Have u ever been Lyte-as a Rock? Run DMC, taking out all Sucka MC's. What's funny is that all of them had great DJ's and I remember all their names. Who are today's DJ's?
