You have better lyrics than most genres. You have a bit more control. And tradition means a lot. Like rock, you often have twin guitars, bass and drum. Are you complaining about Merle Haggard or Rascal Flatts? You'll find even country fans sometimes draw a line.
I grew up listening to it. I also rock out hard! But country is the more sensitive music that gets all the way to your soul.
Listen to Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams, Jr., the Warren Brothers, Smokin' Armadillos, Travis Tritt and Trace Adkins to get a feel of how country and rock mix.

everyone has an opinion on music genres. I think country is cool, but in the same time I just can't listen to rap or R&B or some rock-punk bands

Kenny Chesney and a lot of other singers are good you just have to find the songs you like .Just like other music,some rock songs you think are dumb.You parents probably didnt grow up listening to country.

Most of the songs aren't rude or violent (Goodbye Earl is the exception to that rule), the lyrics are clear, and there aren't any references to drugs.

what do i like about country? nothing. twangy guitars and the badly-accented voices...ugh. i get migranes just thinking about it. the only kind of country i like is bright eyes (i'm wide awake it's morning) and that has the twangy guitar so i'm pretty sure it's just the voice.
