your WEP key is the wireless security password you would setup yourself when doing the routers configuration. If you cant connect to your router because it is asking for a WEP key and you dont remember what you set it to you will have to set the router back to its default configuration. Refer to your routers manual to learn how to do this.

bad news for you.

you read the manual book [ it should the default key if you just installed your router] or else you can change it.

what company is your router?

2wire?
linksys?

try to chk at the bottom of your modem/router.....it usually appear below the serial number. it is sometimes enclosed in brackets & may contain 10 or 12 digit numbers.
