Here is a simple rule that has been used to name babies for many years -- --If the last name is 2 sylables then name the kid a one or three sylable first name. Carter is 2 so following the rule here are "good sounding names" ( altho I would never name my child Thaddeus...).

Thaddeus Carter or Sam Carter

Since your profile is "GirlyGirl" and I consider myself one too :), I think you might like the following...

For a girl:
Abigail
Julia
Josephine
Lily
Lindsay

For a boy: (I like simple, preppy names!)
Charles
Owen
Matthew
Jake
Kyle

P.S. You're lucky - Most names sound good with Carter!!! :)
