I've heard this before. Save for the down payment and forget everything else. Find someone you trust to explain possible pitfalls because you may regret it in the future. Your thoughts, please.

Wow... I'm not in debt, but plan to be eventually when I purchase a home and get a mortgage. (I'm currently saving for a down payment and have 10% already at age 21.) Women especially try to keep up with their friends and fashions (not all, though), or shoes...
