i need to change to text color of a paragraph and i dont know how... some assistance would be wonderful

you need to use the tag. In it you can control the size, typeface and color of the font.

A GREAT book for beginning HTML is "HTML,XHTML & CSS" by Elizabeth Castro. It goes step by step... literally. It also has a fold out back cover with all the HTML color codes and color samples.
