a good chick flick movie, but one where the guy and the girl DON'T end up together. my best friend just broke up w/ her boyfriend and we decided we just want to have a girls' night and watch a movie like this.

I liked the movie "The Break Up" it had an ending like you're looking for. That is the only one I can think of, I don't really get into chick flinks and only see one when I go to the movies with one of my girl friends.

My Best Friend's Wedding with Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz is good. There is only one guy and both of the characters played by these actresses want him, but only one can end up with him.

I think "When a Man Loves a Woman" fits the bill...been so long since I've seen it though, I can't remember for sure, but I think they don't end up together at the end...

In Legally Blonde, Elle breaks up with her ahole boyfriend and finds someone nicer in college...but.... she and the nicer guy end up together. At least she proves her ex wrong about something and tells him off with a oneliner. =D
