I came on this site because I am contemplating having a child. I would love good advice, and appreciate those who have gave it (thank you!), But..the more I've read, the more I've been convinced that this isn't the place for me. This is honestly the most judgemental website I've ever visited.

Good luck and God bless. I'm done.

I didn't intend for it to seem like I was coming on here just to decide whether or not to have a child. Yes, I did come on here w/ questions, but thats it. My husband and I have an idea of what we want to do...we're just nervous about being able to provide. I was just looking for support -- and to hear from people who weren't wealthy, but managed anyway.

I just can't stand how mean people can be on here...thats all. Especially when it comes to the younger people who come on here...I really think they come on here looking for actual answers. Just think about that when you answer, please :-).

Loveblue...I'm an adopted child, so I am interested in your role as an adopted parent. E-mail me, if you have the chance... :-).

You definately have to weed through the sh*t here sometimes. I've been visiting this site for almost a year and some days the crap just seems to crawl out from under the woodwork. But, there are also very wise, funny, articulate and interesting people who visit Answers - and that's what keeps me coming back.

Just consider, for any question you might ask, there are all kinds of people ready to answer it - some could be total *******, some could be someone you'd love to know in real life. You just can't know what you're going to get after you throw your question out there.

I don't know what your original question was, but I wish you well with your interest in having a child. I became a parent a little over 18 years ago - by adoption. I can tell you that being a parent is the most rewarding and best thing I could have done with and in my life. I love being a parent.

You might want to try hanging in there with Answers. There are some wonderful people who visit here.

I think you probably are right not the place to ask people whether you should have a child, or for medical advice...especially if you only want your decision confirmed, whatever that is. BECAUSE, that is a personal decision you should make based on very many deciding factors. Your age, your physical condition, your relationship with the "other parent", your finances and many more logical and cultural reasons.

I don't think you should have a child at this point, based simply on the fact that you have asked for advice in this forum. Perhaps waiting, or perhaps even giving consideration to some of the negative things about having children would be very much to your own advantage. You probably can have a kid later, but it is more difficult to get rid of one, or deal with an unwanted one if you make the wrong decision.

Sometimes I'm liberal, sometimes conservative; don't you want to hear from both sides?

There are liberals out here, and yes, it does seem that there are a lot of judgemental people out here. But don't believe that the world is filled with only people who are judgemental people. You will find people who are liberal if that is the kind of people who you are seeking if you look in the right places. I do not think that looking on a site such as this is where you are going to find the answers that you are looking for. But I'm not sure what you are looking for. There are good people everywhere, you just have to know where to look and to know what you are looking for. The answers are always found in larger cities. Be careful of small towns that is where you find small minds.

Remember, Opinions are like certain body parts, everyone has one. Don't ask a question and be disappointed with the answer, especially when it comes from someone you don't know and are probably lucky you have never met!
