This is a myth being circulated by the Illuminati, and it is being taught in all our high schools. It wasn't until I took a Sociology class at University that I was taught the world, in general, is actually DE-populating. Unless you live in Bangledesh or India, people are simply having less kids, or situations like war, famine and poverty are reducing the population. FACT: Last year, France announced they would pay families to have a third child. Russia began pushing for marriage, as more men stay single and less have families. China is facing a de-population crisis because--
remember the female genocide 20 years ago and the one-child policy?--all the marriage partners for these young men were aborted or killed as infants!!! The only reason the US population has climbed to 300 million is because of immigration and illegal aliens coming over. THIS is the truth.

You don't have to do anything about overpopulation. That threat is dead. It's been understood by population researchers for many years now (there was a key research paper in "Nature" in August, 2001, for example) that world population growth is rapidly slowing and, in this century, population will max out and start to decline.

The earth's population will certainly never again double, and will probably never again grow by 50%. It's thought the world population decline will commence within 70 years or less. The U.N. forecasts population will peak at about 9.1 billion this century. And the U.N. has had to keep lowering its estimates for years now.

Fertility rates nearly everywhere, including poor 3rd world countries, have fallen. The population is already shrinking -- today -- in Japan, Russia, and some countries of Eastern Europe. It has just about peaked now, or may already be declining, in Germany, Spain, Italy, and much of the rest of Europe. The rest of the world is following the same trends, just lagging by a few decades.

Hopefully, overpopulation will cure itself naturally. Malthus was an economist who worried about over-population. His predictions -- that people would overwhelm the food supply -- turned out to be wrong for several reasons.

1. Technology. Technology will help us better cope with more people and move people out of poverty into new jobs.

2. Fertility. Fertility has a strong negative correlation with income. So, as developing countries become richer, they tend to have fewer kids. (A poor person might have several kids because they do not have access to family planning or because they want lots of children to support them in their old age.)

3. A decrease in population desity. Despite this planet having 7 billion people, most of the population is crowded into very large cities. There are ways to use technology to spread the population out, which would lead to less environmental degradation and human disease.

4. the list goes on....

Yes, it's been done in many countries without draconian measures.

The keys are raising the standard of living (increasing gdp/capita (with good income distribution)) and education... especially education of young women.

Easy to say, hard to do. Most of the high birth rates are occurring in the least developed nations. And there is a time lag between effectively raising the gdp/cap - education and
seeing the population growth rates drop (as gdp increases, birth rates decrease, but so do death rates as people live longer), but it does happen.

Peace
