There are lots of free practice tests online. Just Google or Yahoo "ACT practice test" http://www.testprepreview.com/ has one. I'm sure you can also find them pretty cheap used on Amazon or eBay, though they might have answers written in them. You could probably buy a cheap guide this way, and then a new practice book of tests. Your guidance center shoudl have a lot of SAT/ACT prep stuff, also, check out the local library. You could also set up an ACT study group with your friends and you could each buy a different book and share them, and then when you're done with all of them, donate to the guidance center or the library if they didn't have the proper resources. Be sure, when you're practicing, to keep track of the time and pace yourself. Before you start taking the practice tests you spent all your money on, become familiar with the set-up of the tests, how much time you have to spend on each test. After every timed practice test you take, assess your weak areas and work on them. Good luck!

maximum suitable ACT Books = Get the 'genuine ACT' e book at first, on account that has genuine previous exams. I extensively utilized '1296 Questions ' which replace into sturdy, and advantageous a splash greater stable than the genuine ACT. I even have been given 'The ACT Black e book' as a present, which replace into kinda distinctive yet became out to be rather effectual. maximum suitable SAT books = i'm no longer as lots of an expert in this, yet I even have heard the professional instruction manual, with the blue disguise is the main suitable.

First - read a lot! Read newspapers, news magazines, news websites, and serious literature. Reading builds vocabulary!

I like the ACT prep that's available on the ACT website. It's less than $20 and you can use it all year.

Good luck! and Good testing.
