The vehicle sat for months without being driving but no sight of dampness in the interior, just a musty smell. If cause known, please explain how to correct.

You're not going to smell a musty smell from condensation from the headlights. If the headlights are your only concern, check the plastic covers for cracks or holes. If you are smelling a musty smell inside your car, I'd check the interior first. Have it professionally cleaned. Then check your moldings on your door frames. If they are dry and cracked, moisture will get into your car.

i have a 1988 olds and my headlights did that,untill i put some clear silicone sealer around the lenses.the seal is bad,what does it.

i own a repair shop,and either the seals are broken loose on them or they may have a tiny crack in them letting moisture in,but id say its the seal on them,you can take them apart,and clean them,and re-seal them,and they wont do that any more,or buy new ones,which is much easier to do,good luck,i hope this helps.
