wow, you are lucky to even get it. anything mailed from mexico goes through mexican customs. they are slow, and have very sketchy ethical practices (generally speaking.) so if you mailed a letter, they might get around to it when they feel like it. if you mailed a TV, that person will never see it. but to put it in perspective...if you mail something general mail from the US, it still takes over 3 weeks to go through customs, and about 6 weeks for the person in mexico to recieve it. (again, if the mailman in mexico doesn't take it for himself.)

Because they are not as all together like our system in the US.Some places over there ant even reciev mail (like my in-laws) And if you send something around Christmas dont expect the 6 weeks policy...we sent ours in the begining of December and they received the package on Valentines day!
They tried mailing me something back but I never recieved it...
Good Luck~

Mail in Mexico is treated as 'unimportant' and when they have a few letters going to the same area they send, otherwise they wait until they have enough to bother. There are several couriers in Mx. they take your letters over the border and you pay them, plus you pay then for a US postage stamp and it is "stamped" from where it is couriered to in the States.
Expensive but gets there in a week!

You know they take a lot of siestas in Mexico. Then the FBI probably had it since it came across the boarder to check for terrorism and then the snail mail probably miss placed it for a while.
