Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) made great masculine music. They sang about men living life joyously from the neck down (Down on the Corner - always a favorite on karaoke night), men taking chances against their will and dealing with the risks (Who'll Stop the Rain? Have You Ever Seen the Rain?), men working past superstition and facing fear (Run Through the Jungle), men singing from the gut about love (Susie Q). They struck a chord with men who were drafted during the Viet Nam war era, draftees who wanted to be left alone rather than fight an unpopular war.

Awesome band.

Creedence Clearwater Revival a great group. I have been a fan since they were The Blue Ridge Ranger,s. John Fogerty is one of the best vocalist in rock. That swamp rock sound just dose it for me.

Time for you to go to Netflix and get "The Twilight Zone" movie. Dan Akroyd (very learned in the ways of music) has some great lines regarding Creedence.

("I love Creedence....Now, do you want to see something REALLY scary?")

Fogerty made the band, and this band was a work of North American folk music genius. 'Nuff said.

It is an excellent group; a classic from the late 60's. John Fogarty's vocals are the stuff of rock legend.

Much of it is associated with Vietnam War era music; it is hard pressing, hard lyrics. Brings back memories of good times and hard times. .

Girl, you were only off by a letter.. and if anyone says anything, tell them to go play in "Education and Reference". CCR are soooo way cool!! I can't really expalin it, they just are! Their music is awesome, their lead singer is John Fogerty and let's see...what else..um, oh yeah, John Fogerty is their lead singer! Kinda had a HUGE crush on him when I was 7. Their record was in the jukebox at my Dad's bar and every time I was there I would always play the same song every time.."Bad Moon Rising". ...Sigh...I love John Fogerty!:)

Yes, and ironically they are playing right now and it's been weeks since I've heard them on Classic Rocktopia. They've got some great songs which brings back memories of teen years.

Yes! They were an awsome band. Very unique sound for a 1960's band. I especially like "Proud Mary"

One of my all time favorite classic rock bands. All of their songs have some kind of story or meaning behind them. They were just one of the greats back in their day.
