i downloaded a movie and it was "movie.rar" but i didint have a thing to extract it so i changed it to "movie.zip" but it says its croupt so i went to change it back to .rar but the extenction at the end of it was gone so i tryed adding it but when i opend it it said croupted "movie.zip.rar" does any one know how to chang it back to .rar?

Dude...you can't hust rename the file directly. You have corrupted the file.

1) Redownload your movie file.
2) Download and install the WinRar software http://www.filehippo.com/download_winrar/ and unzip your movie.

The file isn't corrupted. Your system isn't showing you file extensions for recognized file types. This means when you named it .zip, it knows what that is and doesn't show you it. But it's still there. So when you were trying to put .rar back onto it, .zip is still there and it thinks you know that. You have to turn off this "hiding" in windows explorer. There is an option to do so at the top but I am not on a windows machine right now so cant provide specifics. Someone else may post what I'm referring to. Anyway, after that, rename it to .rar and follow the other advice to download and install winrar to open up .rar files.

J.R. is wrong. Renaming a file will not corrupt it.
