Here is what I do and it seems to help... First, Garbage bags are your friend... Start at the door, working your way in. My policy is that if you have not used it or thought about using it in the past 6 months its garbage. If there is something that is a family heirloom, this about why you are keeping it... if there are many things keep one important thing. Have a yard sale, ebay your items.. but mainly throw it away. You might regret throwing things away at first, but if you have not thought about them for a few months, once they are gone you probably wont think about them again.. Good luck and happy cleaning

Is it because its just small, or is it because you have too much in the room. No matter what. You can take a clean cloth and spray furniture polish on it, and climb over what ever is in your way, and dust whatever furniture that needs it.Get a stick broom(electric) maybe it will be easier to move around. Maybe its time to get rid of somethings in the room, I'm starting to have a hard time doing it also.Sorry that's all I could come up with.

Take everything out, dust and vacuum.. Only bring back the things you have used in the last 6 months. Have a rummage sale and buy something special for yourself.

Take everything thing out of the room, if you have not touched or used certain items-get rid of it and donate it.
Then pick and choose what you want to stay. This will not only look 100 times better, but it will make you feel 100 times better...

Get rid of excess furniture, organize the little things and put them in totes or something. Utilize the space above your head by buying shelfs. Get rid of items you don't need or use.

My cousin used to be really messy like you. You couldn't even open the door all the way. We took trash bags and started at the door and kind of worked our way through. My cousin had things she forgot she had, like Furbies. You need to decide what to keep and what not to keep, because obviously you don't have the space to keep it in!

As you walk through the room, push everything out of your way and pick them up.

Rearrange so it is easy to get around. Then you won't avoid cleaning it.
