I don't quite understand the problem. Does someone asking you what time it is make them a "nutter?" Or, are you a "nutter" for having your stereo on so loud? Gosh, people are intolerant!

As K.D. says: anytime you're in a Hotel, and you don't know the time, you'll be glad you brought your drum, just open your window in the middle of the night and bang your drum as loud as you can, it won't be long before someone opens a window and shouts out

Mine's just been round, shouting and dribbling, with wild staring eyes. I had to shout back that I couldn't hear him cos of my tribal techno music. I worry about him.
