I had a c-section 7 months ago and even though it has shrunk drastically my scar hasnt gotten any lighter. I was wondering if there is any kind of cream or medicine that can help my mark fade!! Or is this my motherly tattoo for life?!?!?

Like all scars time will eventually fade it, and with certain ointments, creams, lotions and potions it may get less obvious, but being a scar it will never go away totally...all the above answers sound good to me...
Wear your "motherly tattoo" with pride...lol

I've had 2 c-sections, one 7 years ago and one 2 years ago. With my first the scar looked horrid. It did fade in time though. after my second it looked much better. i think it was because i had a better doctor. Now it is so light that I can barely see it. Also if you had any complications with your insicion after you left the hospital it could make it look worse. Only time will diminish the scar, just remember if you plan on having any more children you may not be able to have one naturally. My doctor told me if it was her she would have a second c-section. So I did. Also there was a lot less scar tissue after the second one, and they removed a lot from the first

no cream or magic potion will help this no matter what ppl say or what the packages say. Over time it will eventually fade away but not heal all the way. It will be with you till you die. If you simply cant wait that long I suggest seeing a dermatologist about laser surgery. Not covered by medical but it will be removed in a few treatments. Also, have you thought about a tummy tuck? that would remove the scar but then you would have to tummy tuck scar..so never mind. See someone about layer surgery, that's the only thing you can do.

Yes there is the scar won't go away but it will fade over time. My advice is to use merderma you can find it at any pharmacist and even at walmart. It's about 20 dollars and worth every cent. When you're in the sun be sure to apply sunscreen to that area regardless of what complexion you are. You don't want to get it any darker. Mederma also works great on the strecth marks from pregnancy makes sure to put sunscreen on those areas too!

U can try using Mederma for scars or Strivectin.SD..These will HELP fade your scar but will not remove it completely..Just like stretch marks they are bound there forever and are just a little reminder of what we went through for our children =)
Good Luck!

It takes quite a while for the scar to lighten up....close to a year. Maybe try some Mederma (scar lightening cream) to help.

There is a Vitamin E ointment that you can apply that helps with scars. Just try and find a reputable brand not just any Vitamin E ointment.

you will have a scar. I guess it depends on your skin, but now 6 years later, I can't hardly see mine. The skin on top of the scar on the outside still feels kind of numb.
