Could be a number of issues, I would start by looking at replacing the thermostat, it is an inexpensive part that really does do alot for your engine, if it is stuck closed, then the coolant is unable to circulate and cool down the engine properly

i own a shop, and it can be any number of things causing this to happen on it,water pump may be going out, thermostat may be sticking, radiator may be getting clogged up,a hose may be closing together on it,and it may just be really low on coolant,as you see there are a lot of things that can cause this, all you can do is start checking all of this stuff, and make sure its not one of these things, you will eventually find it by narrowing it down, one step at a time though, good luck i hope this helps.

drain out ur radiator n add in radiator flush, fill up the balance with water.start ur engine 4 30mins.then drain out the radiator water again.u w'd see the water is brown color.clean the radiator with water then u add in the radiator coolant n top up the balance with water.ur car now should be ok on the road.if not there w'd be a leakage in ur engine block,u've to relap ur engine block surface n change the top n bottom gaskets as well as valves grinding.

well first see if you have coolant in it.if yes then Id check the radiator cap. if thats okay then my next guess would be the thermostat. If no coolant then you have a leak.

check your thermas stat how you may ask while car running open hood car does have to be warmed up hose that connects to top of radiator squeeze if it is hard to squeeze your thermas stat or water pump is bad so to see if it is your water pump open radiator cap carefully and check to see if water is flowing and check around water pump to see for leaks bearings being worn.
