Yeah, I understand this. I was (and still am) REALLY short. Actually, it is taller than a lot of gymnasts, and meant to be. That's why there's a spring board in front of it, not only to get your bounce and keep momentum, but to actually get on the vault. There's no way you can do vault when you're scared. There's really nothing to be scared of. Vault is my least favorite apparatus, but I'm certainly not scared of it (anymore). Run fast and don't slow down when you get the the vault. Make sure not to over jump or rotate once you get on the vault. Keep your arms tight and push off the the vault (no matter what you're doing). Good luck in gymnastics and have confidence! Don't be scared of the vault!!
