You can get to Puerto Galera from Manila via plane to Calapan for faster travel. But if you want to save on fare, you can go the harder way, but maybe a more enjoyable way, via RORO, literally means roll-on, roll-off way fo traveling. You can either take a bus or drive your own car from Manila to Calapan onto Puerto Galera.
Take a bus at Ali Mall area in Cubao, quezon City where you can ride the bus going to Calapan, Mindoro (for Puerto Galera) onto Caticlan, in Aklan for Boracay. The bus will take you to the seaport of Batangas City where the bus will board a ship that will cross the sea going to Calapan, Mindoro. Alight from the bus when you reach the Calapan shore and take a jeepney or bus going to Puerto Galera. You can take a car with your friends instead of taking the bus. There are hotels or resorts where you can choose to stay.
But if you don't want to have any worry at all, just book yourself with Coco Beach, and they will take care of everything from flgiht to your stay, after you book with them. It is of course a little more expensive than the recommended trip above.
Enjoy your trip.

If you are visiting from abroad, you will most likely need to spend one night in Manila. Best option is to stay at a hotel in the Malate/Ermita area - this has the best bars & restaurants in a very concentrated area that you can walk to.
Catch the 8:00 "sikat" bus from the city-state hotel on Mabini St., they will take you to batangas port where you get on a "Ferry" (Bangka type boat). The whole trip for the Bus & Ferry costs about 600 pesos, and the bus is airconditioned.
Hotel in Puerto Galera, I reccommend Porto Fino in Sabang, and for food there are a lot of places that you will see walking up and down the beach. In Puerto Galera town, try a pizza at Sharkees (best in the Philippines), or if you go to Talipanan beach Luca's also has great food, and the beach is much quieter (rent a motor bike or hire a bangka).

manila to puerto galera oriental mindoro.....there are a lot of bus stations in manila. depending on which area are you closest.
1. Quezon city area - ali mall, cubao.
2. MAKATI - near Buendia LRT
3. Pasay - edsa
3. Alabang - just under the bridge
I suggest you go to any of the BUS TERMINALS. So you have sure seats. Its very hard to stand for 2 or more hours depending on traffic. i dont suggest you ride the FX / colorum rides, cause if it so happens to break down, there wouldnt be a back up car to pick you up.
anywyas, the bus ride would be going to BATANGAS CITY PIER. make sure its the PIER. not the city proper. just tell the guy whose giving you the tickets.
At the pier, you can buy tickets for the FERRY going to Puerto galera. ferry ride is probably 2 hrs or less. i forgot already.
Once you get to the Puerto galera port, you need another land transfer (probably a jeepney) going to the beach area.
as for dining etc...can help you....but i suggest, survey the area, and try it.

The WHITE BEACH in Puerto Galera is the place to be.
You can go there by Bus thru:
1.taking a bus from LRT Buendia Station/Cubao/Alabang to Batangas Pier. from there, it will cost you around PhP250.00 to PhP300.00. From Batangas Pier, you will take a boat/ferry to the White Beach, which will cost you around PhP200.00 if i can still remember.
there are many bars there at night, the whole beach front is occupied with bars (Gay Bars) i might say.

If you are planning to go there in these months (March to June), you can't really have the "relaxation" that you want. The whole place is too crowded during summer. Admittedly the place is beautiful, but during these months the populace on the beach can easily be compared to the beaches of Miami.
If you want to relax, I suggest you go up north like the Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte.

We did Coco Beach. They picked us up at the Manila Hotel (closest of their pickup points to our house). Loved the resort, beach, etc.
