Not only do I think 7 is too old to have a designer bag, I think that 7 is to old to even know what a designer bag is.

OMG what is that child going to wear to her senior prom, or her wedding for that matter.

And I don't care what kind of cell phone it is, she's only seven. How many phone calls could she possibly need to make when she is away from home?

Mommy better pray that Hollywood keeps hubby in its graces, because the pattern has already been set. That chid is going to cost a small fortune.

BTW, is your sister in the market to adopt an older child (way older). I could use a designer bag.

Wow, your sister is totally insane. What would your niece put in her $1500 handbag anyways? Barbie dolls, crayons, markers? Lol. If your little niece is getting these expensive things now, just imagine what she will be like when she is a teenager. Your sister must think that she looks like a better parent when she spends more money on her daughter. At 7, your niece is very likely to forget her bag somewhere. If she wants a purse to be like her mom, her mom could have went to walmart and let her daughter pick out something more realistic. Your sister is also setting her daughter up for the wrong attention. People will want to be her friend just to try to get something from her. And there are a lot of people out there that don't think twice about hurting children. Someone could knock the child over for that designer bag. I am sure they could get at least $500 for it somewhere. Talk to your sister right away. Tell her you are concerned about the affects of her buying such expensive things for your niece. Suggest counseling even.

Your sister is totally out of her mind, giving a 5 and a half year old a cell phone is a good way to lose a lot of your money and have a missing child. Buying a 7 year old a designer handbag is worse than giving a 5 year old a Razr, it will probably get all messed up and lost or stolen!

Your sister is just giving her daughter things she believes she may have deserved as a child. If she can afford it...why not?
But if she is drowning in debt then yes,,,it is absurd.
No age is too young to indulge but one must also keep the child grounded. Not an easy task, however give her some credit on good taste.
And ask for dibs on the purse.

It also sounds a bit like sibling rivalry and low self esteem on both your parts. Work on yourselves before you warp the innocent.
Okay you keep editing this fabo stuff they are doing, why are you sitting on here asking questions when you should be enjoying the stuff they are planning. Sounds like your missing out on the party (aka) a fabo life. Enjoy your sister and all her offerings even if you are just the company. LOL

Yes a 7 year old should NOT have a $1500 purse. That is ridiculous. Your sister needs to calm down on spending that much money on her 7 year old daughter. What will your sister do when her daughter (your niece) wants to get married? Spend over 3 million dollars on her wedding. Thats absurd. Its not a bad thing to buy nice things for your daughter, but if she continues receiving all these expensive things she is going to expect them all the time.

Yes, 7 years old is too young to have a designer bag. The youngest age i can think of to have a designer bag is around 13. Well, ill be watching for that little 7 year old on super sweet sixteen. lol. i think your sister spoils her too much. but since her husband is a producer....year a year later your sister will proabably realize that her daughter is being spoiled. tell her that she should spoil her cuz her child will grow up to be a brat. man...im kinda jealous though. i want a 1500 louis vuitton bag!!! also your sister shouldnt give her this stuff cuz it sounds like shes making her grow up faster. i mean a five year odl isnt supposed ot have a razor and be talking on it. a five year old is supposed to have a fake elmo phone. she should be hanging out with braney and elmo instead of checking out louis vuitton purses.

Sounds like your sister is a rich girl. Is she single?

Back to the question.
NO, a 7 year old should not have a $1500 hand bag.
Hell, no school age child should and I don't care where you come from.

Whats a razr? Is that a cell phone? Cell phones are fine for 5 year olds. Just so they know how to use them.

Yes. She is spoiling her own daughter.

i'm 13and I'm probably going to my first phone on my upcoming birthday which is when i turn 14. Plus who is a 5 year old going to call she probably can't even work it. Also, a 1500 doller handbag. She's 7 what is she going to carry ,my mom is 36 and thinks 172 dollar bag is expensive.

She needs to stop spoiling her daughter for her own good. When her daughter grows up, sh will think its ok to just ask mom and dad for all this stuff. She's grown up getting everything she wants. She'll think that it is still ok now.

Your Sister has to be careful that when her Daughter reaches a little older she might want or demand all these materialistic things, because it's what she's accustom to. What's going to happen when your Sister can't give her these expensive things anymore.? The child might rebel and become disrespectful; wanting ever thing she sees and will not understand why she can't have it, when in fact she's always gotten what she wanted in the past. This type of behavior that your Sister is exercising could back fire on her.
