One method of adding more cichlids would be to net and bag your existing fish and rearrange the tank decor. Then add back all of the cichlids at once. That way they all start new and none of them have a territory to defend.

No. for 2 finished grown Oscars of any form, you'll favor a minimum of a one hundred twenty 5 gallon tank. they have been nicely undemanding for actually breaking small aquarium glass and causing a lot havoc and damage to human beings's houses so truthfully do not evaluate putting one in a 30 gallon, that's a procedures too small. A seventy 5 gallon for one Oscar is best. Please evaluate another fish that are a lot more beneficial acceptable for a 30 gallon. Like a million-2 Convict Cichlids case in point may do nicely in a 30 gallon. sturdy success and attempt the links.

You can add a couple more cichlids to the tank, but you need growing room. Some cichlids get pretty big and, full-grown, a 30 gallon tank might only hold 2.

Get rid of the 2 cichlids and get a new group,or start another, bigger tank. In an established cichlid tank, new ones will likely be killed if they are the aggressive types like oscars, pacus, etc.

I would put in more Cichlids, not many fish can live with a cichlid. My friend had 2 fully grown oscars and, not knowing any better, she put in a cichlid. As the oscars tried to eat the cichlid, the cichlid turned around and took chunks out of the oscars. One oscar died before the other managed to get it.
Teehee, sorry, got carried away. My point is, be careful!
Good luck with your fish!

On a side note, you could always put in a crawfish and see who wins. ^-^

You could get a few more cichlids depending on how big the ones you already have get.I would either stick with all African cichlids or all central American ones because I find the African ones are more aggressive and could kill the other type.

You should be able to get away with adding a couple of corydoras or brochis type catfish. Most cichlids know they can't do anything with the spiny fins of those type fish and leave them alone.
