It seems like they have us in a noose with all the goods so cheap through the exploitation of the labor of their people, that
its just not feasible for the average American to "only buy American" and still remain financially intact. If the US is in debt to the tune of 17 trillion (accdng to CNN) then it just seems like a matter of time until we are under their economic control. Whats the answer?

Yes, I think you are on the right track. Will all their exports flooding our shores and our labor force dwindling it is only a matter of time before we suffer a tremendous trade deficit. Then we will be in serious economic trouble regardless of which political party is in power in Washington.

Of course it is. They are an impoverished nation, Communist by government, and all the people are not benefiting from our purchases of their goods here. It's just their government who gets the money, and they use it as they see fit. It's no secret, and it's common sense when you look back in history, and at what is happening now in China, that they are now, and always have been, completely opposed to everything we stand for, now and in the past. They haven't done anything drastic against us, but it's quite obvious that by nature, they hate us completely. If they were in a position where it would benefit them financially to hurt us in a big way, you can bet your life they will do just that. No question about it.

But it's our fault. Our workers are lazy. Our culture thinks we all have to live in 200k + houses and drive SUV'S, new cars, etc. We expect huge salaries, and detest our "poor". In other countries, where the workers are just glad to have work to do, to get a meal and have any place to live, they will work for much much less, to build the same products we need, that we used to build here. Gone are the days of United States world domination economically. Toyota is surpassing GM as the world's largest automaker, and it's a matter of time before one of the Big 3 automakers goes completely belly-up from lack of profit, according to Motor Trend magazine.

We are a lazy, handout driven nation, who thinks we deserve something for nothing. Our actual output of products and services is much less than other nations, because we are much much lazier than Mexico, China, Japan, and most other countries. It's a matter of time before this catches up with us, and it's just getting worse with every generation in this country. The last generation here that understood this principle, was the generation that grew up in the "depression", i.e. a 35 year old's grandparents now. They had to work hard to eat and live. We do not, and we are ruining this country with our attitude of "entitlement", and this upcoming, youngest generation now, is going to be worse. We are their parents, and are clearly teaching them poorly, because 1) we don't know any better and 2) our school systems are much more lax now than they have ever been.

Yes, this country is in big trouble. We have, and continue to, piss off every other nation with our arrogant attitude, and we are getting to the point, soon, where we will not be able to back that up anymore. Consider the great America of old, GONE. It would take a new generation of completely reformed and determined individuals to make this change at all, and there is no reason for a generation like that to come into existence, or act that out, and there won't be a reason, until something drastic happens, i.e. China or any other country strangling us economically. At that point, it will be far too late. Enjoy it while you can, my American brothers and sisters: it is fading fast. We let every minority have more rights and priveleges and organizations than the majority of the country does, regardless of whether or not they stand for the principles on which this country was founded. Our entire moral foundation, which is exactly the only original difference between this country and all others, and is what made us into the great nation that we have been, is decaying, molding, and weakening, in every way, before our eyes. And nobody is doing ANYTHING about it. At all.

In recent years tons of trade barriers have been broken down around the world. It has exposed the huge difference in living standards between the rich (U.S.) and poor (China) countries of this world. During the industrial revolution, all of the factories were in cities, but today new factories only open up in rural states because the cities are simply too expensive. The exact same thing is happening today.

Perhaps China is intentionally engaging in unfair trade practices. But there are a billion people in China living far below the standards of most Americans. I don't blame them for what they're doing.

You are absolutely right. How is it that you can see it, and Bush can't? Is there a politician alive who loves this country enough to save us from becoming in a state of indentured servitude to China? Impose massive tariffs, penalize American companies for manufacturing good in China and get our head out of the noose before it is too late. Not only are they devaluing the dollar, not we have to compete with them for oil and other resorces. China is not asking us to build their manufacturing equiptment, all of which requires oil. Everyday they are building up their military. The whole world sees us as a laughing stock; we can't protect our boards, we can protect ourselves, we are too scared to protect ourselves, and ******* are running aroung like they own the place. The world sees us as weak. That is why they see it as their time to rise. With the weak, feminized, homosexualied society and political class we have, we just might lose this super power position.A position that was won over centurys with the blood of our ancestor, and inherited by a group of people who I have no respect for at all.

In our lifetimes I definitely see a shift in world power from the United States to either China or the United Emirates. They will control the economics of the world, and they already control a huge share!

Yea dam chinese and iranians and whoever else is stealing americas money. You too japan stay away from our money dam it!!!!! dam corperations why dont you act like real american patriots and steal all the money from there countries and bring them back to the usa. and charge the foreighn countries higher and us lower.

Edit: but yea lumber jack and just me on one thing. People dont appreciate this country alot. And i think its allitle of both of your guys ideas because i remember one time that america actually sued japanbecause japan was selling one of there procucts for lesser in the 90's and serverly out competing us and performing a monopoly in our makrets. Also i hear china takes like trillions of american dollars from us through trade or something like that. But yes our economy in a sense reflects on american culture because culture influences what peoples values are. And many people underestimate and un appreciate america and value things they dont need at all while many other people in the world are suffering. Like why did you get me a blue bmw i wanted a red and stupid chit like that. Or why couldnt you make my sweet sixteen at the disco club and people complain about that like thats whats really going on the world. tons of stupid chit. And the nerve to replace real news with things about celeberties and stuff. I dont give a fuq if beyonce is gunna break up with jay z. they can suck my nuts. They dont pay my rent and they dont send donations to my school or community so wtf should i care about them. why do people care about them so much? they should be caring about themsleves and family more then them. Most importantly they should care about the trrops in the war. Not freakin celeberties. Man why dont people send food or aid to the troops. all they do is whine and sit around with protest posters and wine like little 3 year olds. Sure maybe we bush isnt that great of a president (personally i dont think hes a good president) but dont make things worst for america. The reason why the military doesnt tell you certain things is because the military is scared that the people of america will loose faith in there country. The military knows that most of America is alrready a bunch of weak minded timid whining people. Sadly thats already happening already. This is also because We been here so comfortable with all our fancy stuff that we dont know how to handle challanges and obstacles as a nation when they come. America better toughen up or were gunna die alot sooner then you think. TOUGHEN UP AMERICA!!!! AND STOP BEING LAZY!!!!!

Forget China, the economic instability is all part of the master plan of Bush, Cheney, Chertoff and a number of Multi-nationals to break our countries economy down to the status of other third world nations so that we'll crumble into believing that we need a North American Union. It happened in Europe, and your seeing the start of the crash over there. The housing market over here is out of control. 25% of the mortgages are in danger of going into foreclosure. Mortgage brokers are closing around the nation. Our stock market and hedge funds are mired in corruption. The Chinese are no longer purchasing our T-Bills.

WE are SCREWED unless we get Bush and all of the cronies out of office!!

They have not put any noose out there that we didn't hand them the rope. The consumers of America are creating a great China. Buy from anywhere but China. Simple. Supply and Demand.

Hello,

Break our economy, I think they, with Russia, want to overthrow our nation and our leaders are allowing it to happen.

Everything we buy these days, especially from good ole WalMart, is Made in China or Tawain or Vietnam!

Cheap labor is winning...all our jobs are going overseas and America will be a 3rd World Nation in probably 4-5 years.

I can not prove this, but just wait and see.

Hope this helps you......................... : - O

People were saying this when the Japanese were buying in America in the 80's, You know who benefitted most? The USA. The same will happen again. Only China will make us richer yet.
