By failure to appear, a default judgment was entered in favor of the plaintiff granting them whatever satisfaction they were demanding. You also have probably been ordered to pay for their attorneys' fees and/or court costs as well. Failure to appear does not stop the legal system from pursuing it remedy.

The landlord wins by default, and they send out an officer to watch the property be moved to the curb.

Most tennants never show up, so it is actually unusual for one to ever show up.

Sarge is right and on top of that they lost the extra 30 days they could have got. They might be able to appeal though.

DOES NOT DELAY ANY EVICTION..
SHERIFF CAN DUMP CONTENTS INTO A STORAGE
UNIT AND PERSON GETS CHARGE FOR THEIR TIME PLUS STORAGE IN ADDITION TO ALL OTHER COST.
SILLY TO THINK ONE CAN BEAT THE SYSTEM.
THE LANDLORD CAN ALSO FILE FOR LIEN ON PROPERTY AND GET IT...RATHER THAN HAVE IT PUT IN STORAGE OR BOTH.
