i bought ink for my printer, and the colored ink works but i cant seem to make the black ink work..how do i make it work..its brand new and the hole in punctured correctly on the bottom..and its the right kind..thank you

hello & gmnastcsrocks, you must be twins.

Yes, remove the new Black cartridge, and look to see if you removed the tape completely. Inspect the recepticle that you removed it from to ensure that the contacts are clean. When you replace the cartridge, look at your printer settings to see if there is a Cartridge Clean cycle that you can initiate.

If this is the NAME BRAND cartridge, consider taking it back to where you bought it... I would suspect a reject cartridge. But if another fails, bring that cartridge back, along with the idea that it is time to buy a new printer... this time, get a Canon.. The ink is less expensive and last longer. Don't buy the cheap printer, buy the printer that takes cheaper cartridges. But photographers love the color that Canon prints.

Remove the black cartridge and put it in again and try again. Good luck
