If this is a serious question then I think it deserves a serious answer, and I believe we are in deep doody.
There are ever increasing levels of State authority without the expressed mandate of the people. The Government seems to be elected and then we just let them do whatever they want. As a result, ever increasing levels of control, supervision, surveillance and reductions in autonomy are taking place.
We arer the most highly observed and supervised peolple in the western world. CCTV checks your movements, on average, 300 times per day.
Dozens of agencies, before we even get close to a national identity scheme, have access to your very personal records. Police, Social Services, health providers, schools, the boy scouts, numerous organisations.
The government, excersising your authority, is ever tightening the screws about what you and I can do, without making it , in any sense, safer for us to go about our business.
There is much talk about controlling crime, illegal immigration, terrorism and so on, but - in fact - nothing gets better.
All the while, what seems to happen is that those of us who keep to the law and just want to live reasonable lives, are out of sight.
It is difficult, if not an offence, to express the view, in public, that an offensive person is being offensive.
There are numbers of children in my locality who are, apparently, out of control.
It is virtually impossible to express the view that a child is behaving unacceptably without being accused of dreadful intentions. If you challenge a child, in the street, about unacceptable behaviour, you will be subjected to levels of abuse, and the possibility of reactions that make doing so dangerous (they have been known to choose their moment to throw bricks through windows and disappear).
It is, equally, almost impossible to have a genuine care for children other than one's own without being seriouly thought of as "risky".
We are subjected to checks and "balances", continuosly, that most of us do not even know exist.
There are people who go out, with the intention of getting drunk and then fighting, who do not consider they have had a "good night out" unless they have been involved in some sort of fight.
Increasingly, people, like myself, who express views that are seen to "marginalise" people we see as a bit over the edge of acceptable behaviour, are seen as extremists.
Come on.
This society, "Great Britain", right now is shafted.
I am now retired.
I can run my entire life, including my shopping, from my home.
Why the chuff would I feel any inclination to suffer the abuses I get when I go about my quiet business?
A few weeks ago, in a local shop a young lad bumped into me. There was no apology, and I then said to him " I think that sorry might be the word you're looking for". I was, immediately subjected to a stream of abuse, mostly age related but some suggestive of sexual intentions, from he and his associates.
Last week I was in my local town center and was shoved off the pavement by a young man who offered no apology.
I can now do absolutely everything I need to do through my computer. Banking, shopping, dealing with whatever agencies I am invloved with, all can be done through this medium.
If I choose to do it is a fact that I need never again step out of my front door.
It may be a choice I will make.
If I do it will be because society has become, as it is headed, so totally bad, that I would prefer to have nothing to do with it.

It is all about the mind set of our generations there once was a time where science was considered an abomination to the church now the two coexist and many people fear to take on religion as a false belief. because people are scared science brings the understanding that we are part of a very rare occurence that only happens on a miniscule level. That we are only reminanse of star dust. it also brings forth the theory that we are nothing when we die. Religion has to offer more, and it is backed by the fact that every creation has a creator, and belief is all we can put into it. its a very complicated process but sooner or later, if man forgets his religion then the world will be a very diffrent pllace

The way computers and TV have ruled the families I think so unless we stop this and make people get out of their houses and do what we did back in the day and play at playgrounds and had real fun. Not stay inside and play video games all day.... Then u wonder why the obesity problem in kids is so bad now.....

No one can answer that because it is not here yet. In my perspective, I think that everything is going to stay the same except the cars. If you have watched Future Car, the four-part-series on Discovery Channel, then you know what I am talking about.

Otherwise, I believe the world is going to stay the same.

It seems to be going that way - yes. Doing all these things with only the PC for company is "safe". I think it is okay to a certain extent but we have to remember there is a real 3-dimensional world out there just waiting to be explored.

And how are you today dearest George?
