and what about the small words?!?? if they kan't even spell common werdz they shuld b forced 2 use spelchek.

Sure, they do. Remember grade school? And the spelling bees? The problem is, they don't apply what they learned. That, or they don't bother to make the effort to sound literate.

By the way, I use big words, can spell them correctly, and know what they mean, too! Don't I deserve a big pat on the back? *Big ear-to-ear smile accompanied by clasped hands and shining eyes like limpid pools of water*

I agree. People are always trying to use big words they heard when they don't know what they mean and i can't help but laugh. I also agree that people should learn how to spell, though most people now are saying they don't need to because everything is going to technology, and that always has spell check. Oh well.

I judge a person's writing ability on whether or not they can spell. Lack of spelling ability is a sign of illiteracy. Therefore I strongly encourage people to learn how to spell, and if they don't, then I urge them to discontinue their use of advanced vocabulary.

i agree i mean there is a spell check there and if you dont know what they mean dont say it, plus i think its ok if you cant spell well no ones perfect i like to im and i do short but when it comes to YA i think that should not be tolerated either.

yes, yes, yes, or you would spell how with n which would turn the word upside down so i would turn from how into now: just kidding. but yes people have to learn how to spell.

not only do "they" need to learn to spell (or hit spell check) "they" need to learn grammar...
I know "IM" is very popular, however, children are learning, and practicing C U L8er, as every day life, and spellings!!! slang is fun, but, it's just that, SLANG....
