literally? because if so... burn patches of it with fire then stain it with a tea bag =P

clamp it - about 1/8" - 1/4" from the edge - between two heavier papers or cardboard. Spiral notebook covers work well. Hold it at an angle - protruding paper sticking up - and light the lower end. The flame will consume the exposed paper but will stop at the cardboard (since it won't be able to get hot enough fast enough to ignite it). You may have to repeat once or twice...

make the first sentence catchy and make people want to read on.

keep it interesting and do make it too detailed because it will bore the reader.

long is not always good. short and to the point is better

Rip the edges... make sure they are smooth and not tattered (for the realistic look)... airbrush brown and tan.
