Ok, lets get one thing straight Adults should NEVER NEVER use Baby Oil... OK, why not?, quite simply it is clear ENGINE oil.. it is a vitamin leach, your skin becomes 'addicted' to it, and you have to keep using it to keep your skin soft. It is a dehydratant and drys the skin On babies - great, they have excess oil fats galore.
What to use, try this old recipie:
2% Sandalwood
2% Neroli
In Sweet Almond or coconut oil, will help prevent stretch marks, also good for those who have them to help reduce them (but that takes a LOT longer)

You might not like this answer, but stretch marks are generally hereditary, and you might not be able to prevent them or fix very much. I've tried lotioning up every night and they're still there. I've heard cocoa butter is the recommended thing to try, though, and who knows, maybe it made it better for me than it would have been. Palmer's makes a Stretch Mark Cream that may help. Once they're already there, though, treat them like scars and cut open a couple of Vitamin E capsules and put that on there. That may help. Good lucK!

I personally used CocoButter during both of my pregnancies, and I came away with almost no marks.

Baby Oil is a mineral oil and very little more than grease the skin. Cocoa Butter on the other is absorbed into the skin, making it softer and more elastic so that it can stretch more easily. You should use it regularly from early in the pregnancy as the bulge grows.
It doubt it is much use after the skin has stretched to the point of leaving tear marks.

Well cocobutter but honestly it dosen't really work. I used mederma on my stretch marks for 4 months every single day and they did fade a little bit. There isn't really much you can do for them if you got em...just consider them your battle scars!!!

Unfortunately, neither will prevent stretchmarks. Those unsightly things (according only to some!) make their appearance due to your genetic make-up & when they come to visit, they like it just fine where they are...and won't budge for all the cocoa-butter in the world! Mind you, rubbing either babyoil or cocoabutter on your tummy while pregnant isn't a bad thing. In fact, the baby growing inside of you will probably enjoy the mini-massage. :) Good luck with your pregnancy!

cocoa butter...Palmer's makes a cocoa butter cream especially for pregnant women with stretch marks. You can find it at any Walmart or drugstore, and I've heard it works. I'm using it now, but I've already had my baby, so it is probably more effective in preventing stretch marks while you are pregnant and before you give birth.
