I can't believe how ignorant people are. Let me guess you watch this stuff on tv and thats it huh? Man people like you are so narrow-minded. Terrorists have ALWAYS been there. THey have ALWAYS been attacking. But the media is so fricken biased and extremely liberal, they will tell you what they want you to know and nothing else. The terrorism there has always been a problem, but the media makes it seem as if it's a brand new thing. Did you really think that terrorism in Iraq just magically appeared when we got there? Theres alot that goes on in the world that people don't realize. I consider myself a moderate, but I think Bush is doing a bang-up job with what he is given. The only reason it seems like terrorism is suddenly around is because the media now sees that they are attacking us. They see it as "Bush sent America to Iraq, terrorists appeared to take America out. That means Bush made terrorists attack America. Yeah thats it!!" What people don't realize is the media is not something you can trust on hardly anything. You think the government is the only thing that doesn't tell you the full story? You are sadly mistaken...

No one said freedom was easy. How do you think they lived before this war started.
They could be a bit safer and go back to the way hussien ran the country. Lets see.
He used chemical weapon on his own people more than once. Ask the 5000 Men, Women, and children in the Kurdish city he hit (he was trying to kill all the Kurds just like Hitler was trying to kill the Jews.) Your 10 year old boy joined the army or went to jail. Women had no rights. Hussien killed million of musliums in wars and executions while he ran the country. If you spoke out against Hussien you were killed. Just like the hundreds of thousands of civilans that he executed and put in mass graves because they cheered when the first U.N. army stopped them from taking over another country. If we did that in this country there wouldnt be a liberal or a democrat left alive.

The war in Iraq was over quick. What you have now are terrorist who are coming in from other countries trying to take over a country rich in oil.

If the U.S. sticks it out and secures the region then the Iraqies will have a chance at freedom. They will get to make their own laws, the government will probably really care about the people, and with all the oil they have it will probably be a prosperious country. Just like the USA used to be before the government became corrupt. It will probably take them a couple of hundred years to aquire a screwed up and corrupt government like the rest of major countrys these days

GIVEN ONE TRUE CHANCE FOR FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY I WOULD HOPE YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO FIGHT AND DIE FOR IT. IRAQ WONT HAVE A BETTER CHANCE THAN THIS.

The majority of the provinces are under freely elected local democratic government. The Kurds made a T.V. commercial that played all over America thanking America for their freedom. Reading this question and the others posted in the same vain, I would say that it's almost everyone's bedtime. The amount of infantile questions posted convinces me that at this time of the day this site is besieged with children that have never held a newspaper in their hands. You all parrot each other and bring no intelligent topic to the discussion. This is what happens when we let the teachers unions dumb down the schools and you all fit right in.

Yes they don't need a patriotic poster at their recruitment centre they just have a picture of Bush instead I wonder if they will send him a thank-you note for putting their recruitment drive back on track after everyone turned against them after 9/11 because Iraq is now a breeding ground for angry young men at least Saddam kept them out of Iraq the lesser of 2 evils maybe.

What do you mean...now full of terrorists ? I am glad I have all my freedoms right here in the great United States of America. I have lost no freedoms so I sleep well at night. Iraq has been liberated from saddam so someday they will feel the same.

God Bless America and our Troops !

Bush thinks by bringing all the terrorists to Iraq that the US military will be able to kill the all the only problem is the US military has no idea who the terrorists are most of the time.

it depends on what your idea of freedom is. i believe that there is, at least, a little bit there. there's no more genocide, where once there were millions of Shiite dying every month just because they were of a different race. that right there is a pretty good freedom. i love living in America and not having to worry about someone shooting me just because I'm a different color; or i pray to a different god. and in response to what most people say to this; which is most likely "why do i care"; all i can say is how do you feel about the Holocaust. yeah, that shut you up. as far as I'm concerned, we have every right to be there, whether or not the people of Iraq agree with it or not. I'm sure the Nazis didn't approve of us getting into world war two just to save millions of Jewish lives.

The US didn't claim that - it was the administration's excuse to get approval for the war. It has nothing to do with freedom and democracy, and everything to do with oil and water rights.
