I'm pregnant with child # 2.=) I am a little concerned. When I was pregnant with my first daughter she had a 2 vessel umbilical cord. normally there are 3 vessels, one for food, one for waste and one for oxygen. When I gave birth he held it up and said yep 2 vessels do you mind if we take it to our lab for research I said ofcourse. When I was pregnant with her they told me my baby had a 20% chance of heart or kidey problems(due to the umbilical cord) well she is fine except for a heart murmer but she got that from her daddy. And my husbands dad also has it. I am so afraid that this baby will have the same thing. I am probably about 6 -7 weeks along my first prenatal physical is on monday. I am going to tell them this. But I was wondering if any of the mothers or fathers out there have ever heard of this? if any of you have heard of this let me know Thanks =)

I have heard of it but everything I have read it is highly unlikely to happen to you again. It occurs in like 1% of births. I know that does little to easy your mind. Once something like that happens to you, you can never live in the naive world ever again.

whilst i replaced into pregnant i replaced into militant approximately information each and every thing the OB or different clinical docs advised me (different than whilst i replaced into extremely drugged up after my C-area, LOL). i comprehend it is complicated in the 2d becasue you're so taken aback by the information that some thing must be incorrect yet once you do no longer think of to ask all your questions then there is not any reason you mustn't be waiting to call you OB or everywhere you had the ultrasound achieved and get an entire clarification, in laymans words, so which you sense comfortable. i comprehend each and every so often you sense undesirable when you consider which you comprehend the clinical docs are busy and all, yet they are making very stable money to be that busy and that they shoudl make certain their sufferers sense comfortable and understand what they tell them before the affected person leaves. This frustrates the heck out of me. I see questions like this on right here continuously. I propose that this nighttime, once you're sitting up freaking out and can't sleep, make a catalogue of each and every thing you prefer to nicely known approximately this attainable subject. Then day after today, call the OB, or whoever, and tell them you are able to desire to be seen precise away or a minimum of communicate over with somebody precise away with regard to the information you have been given. If choose be, exaggerate. tell them you have been up al lnight finding the information superhighway and had a terrible panic attack! Any stable rfile might comprehend a panic attack in a pregnant woman is an particularly undesirable ingredient and tey will answer all your inquiries to verify you sense comfortable and quell any "destiny panic assaults" LOL. i'm frequently no longer a great fan of mendacity yet it extremely is thoroughly distinctive. You should nicely known and understand despite you prefer to approximately you and your toddler's clinical subject. I want you all the perfect and that i'm hoping it is no longer something. stable good fortune sweetie! And chuffed holiday trips!

my daughter-in-law's niece was born with 2 vessels in the umbilical cord. She had heart surgery around 6 months old and is 100% fine in every way.
