Lady Liberty holds a torch in her right hand and a tablet in her left. The tablet shows the inscription JULY IV MDCCLXXVI— July 4 , 1776 , the date of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence . One of her feet stands on chain s, symbolizing the acquired freedom. The seven spikes in the crown represent the seven seas or seven continents .!!:-)

the declaration of independance because the staue of liberty is about america being free and INDEPENDANT so, it is good to the have the bible, but i beilieve it is the declaration of indepence!

It's not a book, it's a tablet, and I think it has the date of the declaration of independance on it.

Just a tablet inscribed "MDCCLXXVI" (I think that's the right letters - you're on your own to verify)
