First women wanted equality, then the blacks wanted equality, now the gays want equality. Where will it end?

This was a sign used at a gay rights rally I attended. It sure brought strong responses from some who didn't figure out it was meant to make bigoted people think.

They're already equal. They just wish to be recognized as such.

It will end when insecure people stop using arbitrary differences as an excuse to put themselves above others despite the fact that they are not superior.

I think it will end when everyone decide to back of from criticising other human beings for being true to themselves. Why should someon's sexuality be basis for how they are respected and treated. I am not gay but why should I be left alone and treated normally for that? It won't end because this world thrives on bringing people down, I would like to add that you don't walk up to someone you just met and discuss thier sexuality before deciding to be friends, so how much is the gay issue an issue? Everyone should just accept everyone for whats inside the heart not the bedroom.

When we ignorant people stop thinking that you are not "normal" if you have a different sexual preferance or race or gender or whatever. We are all equal and our differences are what makes the world interesting. "Diverse" is NOT the same thing as "Inferior". When everyone realizes that, then it will stop. You should be ashamed! You want to know when it will end? When people like you stop thinking that that your way is the only way.

When everyone is equal! We should not judge others or be judged because of people differences. As long as people respect the Laws whats the problem?

What's so wrong with people wanting equality? Assuming that you are a heterosexual, would you want your marriage to be considered null and void, or impossible, JUST BECAUSE you are a straight person?
